Breanna
Breanna
is an energetic and healthy 12 year-old girl.
She has long brown hair and green eyes. Breanna is
talkative and thoughtful. Breanna loves to ride
her bike and swim. She is an avid reader and
especially enjoys comic books. Breanna loves
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chocolate!
Breanna
is extremely creative and artistic in all areas of
her life. She is really good at drawing. Breanna
is inquisitive and well spoken. She enjoys being
with other people but can also entertain
herself.
Breanna has two siblings. She has
an older brother who is placed in long term foster
care and a younger sister that was adopted.
Breanna longs for contact with her siblings.
However, due to each child's needs that has not
been possible for the past few years. Eventually
when Breanna is in her adoptive placement she
would like to see her brother and sister
occasionally. DHS is constantly assessing each
child's needs to see when visitation could be
possible.
Breanna needs a patient and
understanding family who can support and encourage
her as she continues to grow and develop. Breanna
would like a family that has time to listen to her
and spend time with her daily. Breanna would
benefit from joining a family that
has a large extended family as well. She
needs a family that has energy to play and
interact with her. She needs to have clear
boundaries and predictable routines.
Breanna
needs a family who is willing to commit to her
long term. She also needs a family that can
provide stability and enduring caring even when
she feels unstable. Breanna also needs parents who
can advocate for her in her school setting if
needed. Breanna would love to have a family that
attends church and has animals. She also would
like to have a family who enjoys bike riding and
being
outdoors. |

Matching
Assistance Coming Soon!
We
would like to introduce our new Matching
Assistance Program. This program was created in
order to aid families through the adoption
process. We are committed to assisting families,
caseworkers and adoption workers in the effort to
place children in adoptive homes.
We
understand that adoption workers, and caseworkers
as well, have very high case loads and many simply
do not have the time and resources to recruit for
one family day in and day out. That is where AFFEC
steps in. With the Matching Assistance Program,
families now have options!
We
have two new options COMING
SOON!

Laura
is a delightful girl with a sunny disposition.
Laura does not express herself with words but is
able to express happiness and displeasure
through her unique sounds. She loves to sit in
her bouncy chair and kick her legs. She also
likes to activate the music on a pull toy that
hangs above her crib.
Laura responds to
sounds and touch. She loves to be held and
smiles when she is happy. She does seem to try
and track the voice or face of the person
speaking with her. Laura needs to be supervised
24 hours a day, and is soothed by being held.
She is now able to hold her head up and sit for
short periods of time. With the right therapy
and attention, it is possible that she could
very well crawl or walk some day.
Laura
needs a loving and committed family who can put
her needs above their own. She needs a family
with some knowledge of medically fragile
children, who are willing to work with her
treatment team to help her thrive. With a family
who can focus on her strengths and appreciate
her capacity to love, Laura will be a joy to
raise. |

Age

Kaily
is a beautiful child with a huge, engaging
smile. She loves music and flashing lights and
enjoys exploring the textures of the world
around her.
Kaily has a half-sister who
has been adopted by a relative and who lives out
of state. They send cards and letters to her,
and would like to maintain such a relationship
with Kaily throughout her life. None of Kaily's
relatives feel they are able to meet her needs
and feel Kaily deserves a family who can take
care of her long-term.
Kaily will need a
courageous family who is experienced with
special needs. They should be able to provide
her with constant supervision and be flexible in
their communication styles. They will need to be
able to learn to care for her physical needs.
Kaily needs to be loved and supported for who
she is, and her family needs to celebrate the
richness she will bring to their
lives. |

AFFEC
Upcoming Events!
A
Family For Every Child is pleased to announce
our first auction being held November 10, 2010
at the Valley River Inn, in Eugene, Oregon. The
event will be a celebration of National Adoption
Month.
What
we need you to do:
think
of friends, family or the businesses you
patronize who can donate an item or service to
our auction. Can you, your family, or a friend's
place of employment donate a service or item?
Start talking and thinking
auction!
Do
you have a hobby, craft or talent you are hiding
away you can share or donate? Can you provide
the name of a contact for your place of
employment's HR, Marketing or Community Outreach
Department? Does your company have season
tickets to sporting events or the arts community
or a company suite they can
donate?
Plan
on attending the event:
Invite your friends and family to hold the date,
Wednesday, November 10th
for
a night of food, fun and fabulous shopping. The
auction is a fantastic means for businesses to
advertise to our community and reach out to
families and supporters who care deeply for
children in need.
We
look forward to the event bringing awareness to
our mission of finding families for children as
well as raising much needed funds to continue
our life changing work.

more information or to volunteer, please contact

Attention
Volunteers
We
need mentors for youth in foster care. Help
us make a difference in a child's life!
Here
is a request from a 16 year-old boy: a male
mentor, who can be supportive, give good advice,
good at sports, a good listener, and someone to
talk to. Can you be his mentor?
Do
you have a little extra time to give? He needs
you to encourage him to make good decisions!
This
is what this 16 year-old boy likes: reading,
drawing, skateboarding, riding/working on bikes,
and clothes shopping. He is open minded,
flexible, caring, considerate, kind, good with
animals, generous with elderly people. He also
enjoys golf, baseball, hanging out and
movies. His favorite treat is a homemade
blizzard.
You
can make a huge difference in a young man's
life, let's work together to help these
children. Click below for more information
on how to become a
mentor.

Heart
Gallery Adoption
Agency
The
Heart Gallery Adoption Agency exists to help
children waiting in foster care to find their
Forever Families. We strive to place
children in permanent homes with foster to
adoption. Become
an adoptive parent and give a child the love
they deserve!
Why
not you?
Heart
Gallery Adoptions is different than many
existing agencies because it focuses entirely on
"special needs" adoptions. Most of these
children are over six years of age, part of
a sibling group, have some physical, mental or
emotional disabilities, or are part of an ethnic
minority. Unless they find their forever
families soon, these children will likely spend
the rest of their childhood in multiple foster
care placements. Of special concern are the
children that are at risk of "aging-out" of
foster care.
Our
Services: The Heart Gallery Adoption Agency
commits to supporting Oregonian children, and
potential parents throughout the United
States. Heart Gallery Adoptions can provide
either a home study for a family just starting
the adoption process or provide updates,
renewals, and reviews for those already in the
process. We also provide committee
representation in Oregon for in-state families
that we have studied and out-of-state families
who have been identified as a prospective match
by the Department of Human Services. The
Heart Gallery Adoption Agency guides prospective
parents through the process of a "special needs"
adoption at all stages in the process!
